Dinosaurs - Lydia Millet
Normally, I avoid reading reviews before writing my own brief feelings about a book, but Dinosaurs kind of threw me. Kirkus described it as a life-affirming work. I agree. The New Yorker said: Millet writes in the simple, enigmatic language of books for young people: He sat on a barstool. It had a revolving seat, so he revolved. I agree, and that sentence caught my eye. Dinosaurs is such an interesting read and Gil is a complex character...molded by grief, but aiming to find meaning in his place in the world. If you're fine with a somewhat ambiguous novel, then you might find this one is up your alley, it certainly was up mine.
