The Butterfly Lampshade -- Aimee Bender
One odd read, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. I liked the book, especially the imagery, but I found some of the plot disconcerting and not quite believable. Francie is very likable. I found the story of her mother's mental illness and breakdown poignant. But, the importance of the butterfly was somewhat lost on me. More interesting, was the memory tent and the door locking ritual. Will keep watching for more Aimee Bender, but this was not quite as good as I was hoping.
