The Nickel Boys -- Colson Whitehead

The story of the Dozier Boys School, that The Nickel Boys is based on, is heartbreaking. While I thought this book would be upsetting, it surprised me as well. The story of Elwood is devastating, while the story of Turner is eye-opening. It is so sad the horrors we wreak on each other. A shame on Florida.
