Sabrina -- Nick Drnaso
I'm a big fan of graphic novels and can understand why this is the first one to make the list for the Man Booker Prize. Very disturbing. In fact, this made we wonder whether I should give up graphic novels since the last few I read have been so dark. The murder, the harassment, the feeling of robotic life are in sharp focus in this work. The art work is evocative. I agree with a reviewer who calls Sabrina cinematic and deeply timely. The Guardian calls it extraordinarily upsetting, I would agree with that too.
