Refugee by Alan Gratz
A pretty intense read for a Youth book. Great but tragic interlocking stories of 3 children escaping...from Nazi Germany, Cuba and Aleppo. These children embody terrible suffering. Not all travelers make it to the end, but for those who do, there is another life to learn to live. I loved that Gratz gives ways to help at the end of the book. For kids, this could be a real eye-opener. For adults, it is a reminder of how children are such a large part of the refugee experience. Impressive.
