Anything is Possible by Elizabeth Strout
Poverty and isolation define the characters in "Anything is Possible." But, as the title implies, misery is not inherent. This interlocking stories of an odd collection of characters, has a pervasive feeling of hope. People continue to believe in the goodness of humanity. There is not much to smile about in these characters, but there is a lot to like. I think I've become an Elizabeth Strout fan.
