I have never read an Ann Patchett novel and thought it was time. I have to say, while the story was interesting, "Commonwealth" left me feeling manipulated and not quite satisfied. Why wait so long to tell us what happened to Cal, why not explain why Albie is so unmanageable, why is Frannie's affair so unbelievable? It kept my interest, but frustrated me as well. I guess I would say a good summer read.
