This has to be one of the scariest novels I have read. The near-future, dystopian view of the world is horribly believable. As Eilish struggles to save her family from encroaching chaos, her anxiety propels the story forward. The fact that the world is crumbling with apparently no one leading the way had me trembling. My colleague read this in one big whoosh, which I think may be the best way to approach Prophet Song. A beautifully written, terrifying tale.
