I was in the mood for a distracting read, and Gone Girl did the trick. I used to read more mysteries, but the violence got to me. This type of psychological missing person story is more my style. Amy and Nick are messed up. Besides the question of "where's Amy," the book is also the story of a bad marriage, controlling parents, lost wealth, and dysfunction. A lot to swallow, but a good quick tale.
