Greek Lessons - Han Kang
Mesmerizing, odd, and thought provoking. Two lonely, unnamed characters, both debilitated, unexpectedly come together. The woman, who has lost her ability to speak, is the saddest character; but the Greek professor, who has lost his vision, is also mourning. A hypnotizing look at anguish, our senses, the place of language in our lives, and our ability to connect in spite of ourselves. As an aside...I really like the cover.
