I would not call this a pleasant read...but, interesting and moving. Sonya has a lot of serious problems. She is an alcoholic with a troubled past and uncomfortable family relationships. She is not a great mother. She is sent to rehab, and at the end of the story she is sober. It is hard to say if that is enough for her to get on with her life. The story left me feeling conflicted.
