Leave the World Behind -- Rumaan Alam

I'm not sure if I liked this book or not. It's a dystopian novel involving privilege, race and maturity. A upper-middle class white family is vacationing in a lovely country AirBnB when the owners show up (a wealthy Black couple) after an unknown catastrophe hits NYC. There is no power in the city, but at the country house life has a semblance of normalcy, but just barely. Technology is gone, there are a set of deafening sonic booms, animals and birds appear where they should not be, and illness strikes. Since the catastrophe is never revealed, and the state of the world is never resolved, and the couples are uncomfortable, I was left confused.
