Rusty Brown -- Chris Ware
I'm not sure how I felt about this graphic novel. Certainly intense, melancholy and overwhelming. Such sad lives and so much detail. The Guardian called it an "awe-inspiring exploration of regret and ageing, anxiety and ennui." That might be as apt as I can get. The same review also called the work "zany pathos." I think they nailed it. Reading this did not make me feel especially good, but I'm glad I read it. I can see why Ware is considered a master.
