Well that was interesting. This was my first time reading a collection like this and I really liked it. I thought there would be more stories that wowed me, but there were quite a few that really were grand. My favorite was Clementine, Carmelita, Dog by David Means. I've never had a dog as a pet, but the story, told from a dog's perspective, is unforgettable. Number two would be Paradise by Yxta Maya Murray, about the devastating fire in California. I can now see having a story collection on the side while you read other things. A valuable discovery!
