Zorrie -- Laird Hunt
A lovely poignant read. It's a book that is more atmosphere than action, but it moves along. Zorrie Underwood grew up poor in Indiana. When she is on her own, she finds work in a plant painting radium dials. She moves on, marries, life ensues. I'm not sure quite what drew me in, but I was taken with both the feel of the mid-west and with Zorrie herself. There is poetry in the story as the course of Zorrie's life unfolds.
