Since I'm a cat lover and I love Japanese novels about cats, I had been wanting to read The Guest Cat for years. It is a sweet, lyrical read. When a nameless couple starts having nightly visits from their neighbor's cat, it changes their view of their home, nature and each other. The author is a poet and you sense that as you read the book. The brief novel takes sad and enlightening turns, and I was happy I finally had a chance to read it.
