The Glass Hotel -- Emily St. John Mandel

An odd, but compelling read. Sadness and corruption are the pervasive mood, however there was something shimmering and unworldly in the story that hooked me. Vincent, the main character holding the story together, floats through the world. Paul, her brother, and Jonathan, her lover, have evil in their souls, see they are wrong, but are unable to help themselves. Maybe the message is there is a need to be tethered. I liked the book, but not sure why.

From Kirkus: A strange, subtle, and haunting novel. I agree.
