Did You Ever Have a Family -- Bill Clegg

This quiet novel that has a life-shattering accident at the core, was a moving read touching on love, lies, family, forgetting and forgiveness. The story is told through multiple viewpoints of characters who all experienced the explosion that kills 4 members of a family on the daughter's wedding day. There are small town values and pettiness, coupled with the immensity of the tragedy. Some characters are revealed to a larger extent than others, and some are more complicated than others. In the end, any life can be accidental, whether we survive what is bestowed on us is left to be seen.
