"News of the World" was a lovely read. I really liked the main character's persona and integrity. Also, thinking about a world where Native Americans killed and where children were kidnapped was out of my comfort zone. As Captain Kidd reads the news, and hatred and violence abound from all sides, mean, ignorant white men, prejudice, and parsimony, Johanna is forced to relearn the ways of the world. A thoughtful novel.
