I had never read a Zadie Smith novel and this was a lot of fun. A story of mixed race, complicated personalities and academia. At times really funny. I might even call it antic. I really liked the TV version of White Teeth, and this had the same vibe. Two families, both involved in their personal and professional dilemmas. A good read to start 2021.
