Wow. An terrifying, engrossing and incredibly moving read. Convinced me to never visit West Texas, even all these years gone by. The story of women in Odessa, Texas in the 1970's is so painful. The violence,the bigotry, the meanness of life there is overwhelming. And not all manage to escape. It is a story of the lengths one will go to live a life free of pain. I will remember Glory, Corrine, Mary Rose, Deborah Ann and Karla for a long time.
