One of those stories that propel you forwards. Although the stories of the 12 intertwined characters are tough and harrowing, I couldn't put the book down. As they all find their way to the Pow Wow, it is inevitable that not all will survive. I occasionally got confused as to where the current narrator fit in, but it didn't matter in the long run. Native American, human, struggling, finding our way. Worthy of all the praise.
