Except for the fact that this mystery takes place in Sarasota, I can't see much reason to recommend this book. Seemed to me the epitome of cheesy mystery. Weak plot, unbelievable story, self-pitying main character, and in the end, no real resolution to the mystery. Danny Lopez is a pen name for a former Herald Tribune reporter. It looks like he is starting a series about his character, Dexter Vega, laid off reporter turned investigator. Although the book didn't thrill me, I wish him well.
