I thought " A Little Life" was going to be a tough read, but it really was not quite what I expected. While Jude was a mess, there were reasons to fell empathy for him. The horrible things that happened to him in his youth were upsetting, but the times when he persevered and was loved were uplifting. Willhem also captured my heart. I had hoped there would be a positive end, but I can see why Jude's life became too much. An odd read, but worth the investment.
